Well, well, well.
Thanks to Tatica's twitter post, I found this (even though I don't speak Spanish):

http://distrowatch.com/stats.php?section=popularity

Fedora is more popular than Ubuntu in the last month at Distrowatch.

I don't know that it means much, but it's fun to see Fedora at the top.

Of course, I much prefer our transparent, though imperfect, method of counting unique IP addresses to assess Fedora's place in the world.

Well done, citizens of Fedora!

You have to be very very careful with regard to standing up distrowatch as a metric. The monthly and weekly stats are the most viable as a measure of anything... but not in the way they present them. What they to do is to provide an historic running trending graph of daily/weekly/monthly... like what google trends provides. The 3 month and 6 month averages are completely useless because of the nature of the release cycles. The 6 month average has the release day spike embedded in it all the time. A moving monthly average of daily or weekly interest recorded every day and plotted on a graph is a far more useful than the overly simplistic view distrowatch gives currently. The way they do it now.. we can't really correlate against marketing/ambassador activities and see which of the things we are doing provides the best impact and is driving interest.

Like I say, I don't take much stock in it, but it's still fun. That's all. Just fun.

Distrowatch ranking shows the main ranking of visits to main site and principal mirrors. This numbers represent the average number of hits per day for each period. (in our case, fedora).

This means that the most visit and downloaded distro this last month is Fedora :D
